goldbrass, laqueured, engraving on the bell says "F. A. Heckel,
K. S. Hofinstrumentenmacher Dresden", see above; it also has a patch
somewhere and there must have been some dent work on the bell at some
time, as you can see from the pictures, but you don't feel anything from
that when playing; this is a particular instrument, since it has no garland
and also a larger bell than the "standard" Heckel; Heckels without garland
were favoured e.g. in Vienna and tend to be a bit more responsive; it has a very sweet sound that also really opens up when played at loud dynamics.
